Curtin's Health Sciences information sessions in Kathmandu

Meet Professor Jaya Dantas, Dean International in the Faculty of Health Sciences and talk to her about our range of undergraduate courses and discover more about studying a health sciences degree at Curtin.

Associate Professor Janet Beilby

Lecturer with the School of Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Speech Pathology

A/Prof Janet Beilby has been a lecturer, researcher and clinician in the field of stuttering for over 30 years. She is a current lecturer for both our undergraduate and masters Speech Pathology students.She is well known nationally and internationally and has treated thousands of clients, trained hundreds of students and been awarded over half a million dollars in research funds investigating varying aspects of stuttering disorders.

Mr Peter Gardner

Acting Head of School, School of Physiotherapy and Exercise Science

Peter Gardner is a Senior Lecturer and currently Acting Head of School of the School of Physiotherapy and Exercise Science. Peter currently teaches into the Graduate Entry Masters and Undergraduate programs in foundation physiotherapy practical skills and professional communication and ethics. Peter’s current research interests are in employer and graduate perceptions of employability.

Ms Julie Brayshaw

Lecturer with the School of Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Speech Pathology

Ms Julie Brayshaw is a lecturer at theSchool of Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Speech Pathology, Curtin University. Julie has worked for more than 25 years as an occupational therapist in the health and disability sectors in rural and remote, overseas (UK and Canada) and metropolitan settings including the Pilbara region of north Western Australia and in Perth tertiary teaching hospitals. Previously, she held the position as Deputy Head of Department (Occupational Therapy) at Royal Perth Hospital.

Professor Jaya Dantas

Dean International and Professor of International Health
Professor Jaya Dantas is Professor of International Health and Dean International in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University, Western Australia where she leads the Faculty Strategic International portfolio. Her research and teaching expertise is in health inequities, the social determinants and community based participatory research with refugees and migrants. Professor Dantas has worked for 32 years in India, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Australia, and has undertaken research and teaching in Timor Leste, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and South Africa.
