We know things can change when you plan for your future. That’s why we’ve made our deferral process simple, so you can get back on track as soon as you’re ready.
How to defer
Depending on your course, you may have the option to defer for either a single semester or full year. When you defer, we will hold a place for you to enrol in your course the following semester or year.
Not all course places can be deferred, such as those with competitive entry, or courses that have intakes every second year. Please ensure that your chosen course allows deferral.
If you're an international student and have already accepted your offer and paid your tuition fees, you’re still eligible to defer if you have not yet applied for your student visa. Contact our Admissions team for more information.
Request a deferral by completing the form below
You will receive the outcome of your request by email.
What happens when you successfully defer your offer?
Curtin will email you a new offer with new course commencement details. This email will be sent to you shortly after your deferral request has been accepted. Please make sure you have provided Curtin with your current email address.
Accepting your offer
If you have used an authorised Curtin agent to assist with your application, they may be able to help you with your queries, as well as accept your offer on your behalf.
If you have conditions listed on your offer, these conditions need to be met before you accept your offer. If you need to provide certified documents directly to Curtin, please follow the document certification guidelines. If you are applying through an agent, they will be able to certify and submit your documents on your behalf.
